How to get Adobe Flash Player on a tablet or phone with Android 4.1 or higher.

The Chrome browser that comes installed on the new versions of Android tablets and phones does not support Adobe Flash player.  If you happen have a device that came originally with the standard internet browser, and then added Chrome later, you're in luck.  The old standard browser will support and use Flash.  So, when given the option to use Browser or Chrome, select Browser.

If you have a device that came with Android 4.1 or greater, and the only browser you have is Chrome, then you need to download and install a different browser that supports Adobe Flash player.

I recommend the Dolphin browser, which will use Adobe Flash.
Download Dolphin from Google Play here --> Dolphin Browser

Next, you will need to download Adobe Flash Player.  However, Flash player is no longer available to download from Google Play.  There is an app that will take you through the process of manually installing Flash.  You can download it from Google Play here --> Adobe Flash Installer

After doing this, always use Dolphin as your browser and your sites which use Flash will work fine.

Just as an FYI, the reason Flash is no longer supported is because most sites have switched over to HTML5, which is a more advanced method of showing video files.  But, many sites which stream TV shows still require Flash Player to work.

Good luck, hope this helps.

Please post suggestions for other options if you have one.

Here is another option for getting the Adobe Flash app to install on your Android tablet:

Make sure your Android device is connected to the Internet.
Open the Settings menu.
Select Security (or Applications, on older Android OSs).
Place a checkmark next to the "Unknown sources" check box.
Tap OK to confirm your selection.
Close Settings.
Launch the browser.
Search for "flash player archive page" or navigate directly to http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html
On the Archive page, scroll down to "Flash Player for Android archives"
Select a version of Flash Player that is compatible with your Android operating system.
Tap the link to download the Flash Player installer. Download begins automatically.
When download completes, close the browser.
Open Notifications.
Tap "install_flash_player.apk"
When prompted, tap Install.
When installation is finished, tap Done.
