How to do a screenshot or capture on an Android tablet or phone?

If your tablet or phone has Android 4 or greater, it is an easy thing to do.  You do not need any additional software since Android 4 comes with this functionality built in.

Simply go to the screen you want to capture, and while the image is on your tablet screen, press the power button AND volume down buttons at the same time.

You may have to do this several times to get the hang of pressing both buttons simultaneously.  If you press the power button without the volume down button, you will get the dialog asking if you want to power off, press cancel.  Or, if you press the volume down button with out the power button, the volume will do down.

If you have correctly pressed both buttons, you will see a notice in your notification bar saying that it is is capturing the screen.  You will find the screen image in the "screen capture" folder on your device.  It will probably show up when you open the Gallery app or other photo app.

The screen image will be saved as a jpg file and you can edit it just like any other jpg file.
