How to share your Smartphone's internet connection with your Android tablet PC?

Your tablet PC is a very useful device, and can be even more useful when it is connected to the internet.  If you are someplace where your tablet PC cannot connect to the internet due to an unavailable Wi-Fi hotspot, but your smartphone has a 3G/LTE connection, and if your smartphone will support a Wi-Fi hotspot, then you're good to go.

First, you need to establish a connection on your smartphone to the internet, then following your phone's instructions, turn on the Wi-Fi hotspot and add any security  Every phone is different, but here is an image that may help you identify where to turn on the Wi-Fi hotspot on your phone.

On your tablet PC, you can now connect to the Wi-Fi hotspot using this procedure:
  • Open Settings
  • Touch Wi-Fi
  • Under the Wireless & Networks heading, if the Wi-Fi hotspot was set up correctly, you should see it listed on the right side
  • Long Touch on the name of the Wi-Fi hotspot
  • If you set up a password on the Wi-Fi hotspot, enter the authentication information and Touch Connect
