Find my phone or tablet is a important feature to have in case your Android device is lost or stolen. These apps will pinpoint where your phone is. The Google “Find my Device” app will even let you wipe the phone of all data.
This is why I recommend using the Google app. When you first configured your Android device, you added a Google account to your phone or tablet so you can access the Google Playstore. This Google account is also used to backup your data, store all your contact information, and will automatically track the location of your Android phone or tablet. There is an app which simplifies the process of finding your Android phone, tablet or smartwatch. Go to the Google Play store and search for “Find My Device” then select it and install the app.

The features of the “Find my Device” app by Google include:
See your phone, tablet or watch on a map. If current location isn’t available, you’ll see the last known location.
Use indoor maps to help you to find your device in airports, malls, or other large buildings
Navigate to your device with Google Maps by tapping the device location and then the Maps icon
Play a sound at full volume, even if your device is on silent
Erase the device or lock it with a custom message and contact number on lock screen
See network and battery status
See hardware details
Download the Google “Find my Device” app.
For Samsung phones, the Samsung devices can be found using the Samsung Cloud features. To use this, you need to log into your Samsung account and set it up. The Samsung device locator works slightly differently from the Google Find my Android Device feature. It’s a good idea to get the Find my phone feature setup with both Google and Samsung.
There is also a desktop browser option to go to Google’s devices and see information about your Android devices including their location: https://www.google.com/android/find
