How to turn on the “Do Not Disturb” option on your Android phone or tablet?
The Do Not Disturb option solves those many situations where you don’t want to be disturbed with calls or notifications coming up on your phone or tablet. Perhaps you starting a meeting, or working on a project that requires your undivided attention. In the current world of mobile devices, phones and tablets can be invasive and noisy when you don’t want them to.
The “Do Not Disturb” option is not the same as Airplane Mode. The Airplane Mode will disable all connections including WIFI, Bluetooth and data connections.
Many phone and tablet manufacturers provide an easy method to turn on or off this option. Samsung, for example, has the switch on the pull down menu on the Home Screen. You can simply pull down the menu and touch on the Do Not Disturb button.
If your device doesn’t provide a pull down menu with that option visible, then you can
- open Settings
- then touch on Notifications
- scroll down to find the “Do Not Disturb” option
- slide the switch to “On“
