Delete Android Apps

Uninstall Android apps is a common function that you may do over the life of using your Android device.  You may want to try an app and decide you don’t like it and want to remove it.  Newer apps are always being developed and you may find an app that you like better than an existing app.  You can download and install new apps and uninstall old or unwanted apps. (“How to install apps on Android phones or tablets?”)

Your Android phone or tablet may have pre-installed apps that you may want to remove.  Or perhaps you have downloaded and installed an app that you decided you don’t want.

This is easy to do:

  • Open Settings.
  • Scroll down and touch Apps or Application Manager.
  • Scroll and find the App you want to uninstall.
  • Touch on the App you want to uninstall.
  • Look for an Uninstall button and touch on it.

Uninstall Android Apps that are Pre-loaded

You may have some apps that are pre-installed and you cannot uninstall them.  In this case, you can disable them.

Follow the instructions above, but in the last step, touch on Disable instead of Uninstall.
